Guanacaste’s beach towns are the reason most people fly into Liberia (LIR) — golden sand, warm water, and some of Costa Rica’s best-known resorts. But each beach sits a different distance from the airport, and the drive is part of your trip. Here’s how to reach the most popular ones comfortably, with a private door-to-door transfer.
Tamarindo is Guanacaste’s most famous beach town: surf, sunsets, restaurants and an easygoing pace. It’s a favorite base for first-time visitors because there’s always something to do. A private transfer takes you straight from the terminal to your Tamarindo hotel — no shared stops — with a bilingual driver who can point out places to eat and things to do along the way.
Just north of Tamarindo, Playa Conchal is known for its crushed-shell sand and calm, clear water. It’s home to The Westin Reserva Conchal, a popular all-inclusive resort. Ninta runs a dedicated private route to the Westin, so you can go from baggage claim to check-in without a detour.
South of Tamarindo, the gated Hacienda Pinilla community is home to the JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa — quieter, upscale, and set along its own stretch of coast. A private transfer is the smoothest way in, especially after a long travel day.
Las Catalinas is a car-free beach town built for walking, with trails, bikes and a tucked-away cove. Ninta travelers have made the Liberia-to-Las-Catalinas run — one family reviewed exactly that trip on Tripadvisor, praising an on-time pickup of six passengers and a driver happy to stop whenever they needed.
Lively and close to the airport, Playa del Coco is a local favorite for its beach, restaurants and nightlife. It’s a common Ninta destination — one guest booked rides from Liberia to Coco (and on to the Ritz-Carlton), calling the crew “great people” with a great price.
If your resort is on the Papagayo Peninsula — Four Seasons, Andaz, Secrets, Planet Hollywood, Riu — see the full list of Papagayo routes. Each has its own private, door-to-door transfer with verified drop-off locations.
Drive times vary by destination and traffic, and your driver will give you an accurate estimate when you book.
[NINTA: insert verified drive times and “from” prices for Tamarindo, Conchal, Las Catalinas, Coco and Papagayo here. Do not publish estimated numbers.]
Tell Ninta which beach or resort you’re headed to, your arrival time, and how many are traveling. You’ll get your price and confirmation back — usually within minutes.
